OUR AIMS ARE SIMPLE

We want to supply those in need in some of the most devastated regions of Ukraine with vehicles, medical equipment and supplies, as well as whatever is needed (such as warm clothes) to wherever it is needed most.

We work voluntarily and pay our own expenses, so every penny from sales of prints or cards and every monetary donation all goes towards this cause. Every donation of supplies, clothing, etc., is very welcome and we can assure you goes to very grateful recipients.

WHAT WE DO

Since starting this website the need has changed from just ambulances to a range of vehicles that suit the needs of Ukraine, including minibuses and 4x4s. In addition to medical equipment and supplies we also take donations of new or as new clothing, toys and hygiene items for those in need.

Since meeting Iain Gordon, his contacts and experience have been a huge asset, as is his knowledge of the routes and complex paperwork needed for the journey. Iain had already completed 16 journeys before we met, having taken 14 vehicles and vast quantities of humanitarian aid out to Ukraine and is still doing so. Just as important is his large network of senior contacts both in Ukraine and in the UK who help in every aspect of fund raising, vehicle sourcing and servicing, donations of medical supplies and clothes, etc., all the legal requirements and, once we reach our destination, the contacts for the distribution of the aid and the donation of the vehicles for the most urgent use.

Together we have delivered 4 vehicles, with a further 3 and a trailer lined up to go, all packed to the roof (see ‘Latest News’ and ‘The Journey’ pages).

But it does not end there. We get involved with the distribution, meet with the people from a variety of organisations and those receiving the aid, from children to elderly and infirm, in orphanages, schools, hospitals and shelters, as well as community groups and this usually involves several drops in order to distribute everything we have brought with us.

We always ask what is needed most and tailor our next journey to suit. For example, on a recent trip we supplied over 30 donated musical instruments to children and laid on entertainment and meals in a number of venues. The smiles on these people’s faces and their gratitude for not being forgotten is all we require to keep working to supply even more.

So basically, the more we can raise the more we can do. Even if the war in Ukraine ended tomorrow there would still be the need for assistance for many years to come. There are countless numbers of wounded, injured and those psychologically affected, including many orphaned children, who need our help.

Please give generously and look out for our Facebook posts where we list the donation requirements for the next journey.
